Salvation Army: My new best friend

Don't look away now because I have declared Salvation Army as my new BFF. It took awhile for me to realize how deep our relationship really is. Looky here. You betcha sweet bippy I'm wearing that plaid dress with puff sleeves, not to mention going to my ankles and elastic that could stretch over an obese lady. I love it. I wouldn't have bought it for it original price unless it had been 50% off day. So i considered it a sign to buy it. And I don't regret it.
After a few alterations (when I saw alterations I really mean massive-completely-reconstruction) I was able to actually turn this into a cute and public-worthy dress. Mom didn't believe it...and you probably don't right now, but trust me, when I post a picture of the AFTER, I'd like to think you would agree.

Same with this dress here. It was an XL from Gap. And i thought it was just to cute and simple to pass up. So for $4. I refashioned myself a new dress. This way I can feed my shopping addiction without making myself feel guilty.

  1. I LOVE THE DRESS!! It reminds me of You've got mail and the dress she wore at the end of the movie. Aw love it!
p.s. if you go back sometime and remember see if you can see any dresses that could work for Jane Austen time (and see if there is any gloves :) Thanks!

  2. Emily! That dress was 50% off at a second hand store for a reason!!! I'm excited to see what you've done with it though. And I have to agree with Julia, that dress does look like the dress off "Youve Got Mail"..... nice work
